+Before starting your job
- Activate NetID
- Reference email from department contact for instructions and activation code
- Enroll in MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) Duo
- Complete Section 1 of Employment Verification (I-9)
- This can also be completed on your first day
- Complete Direct Deposit
- This can also be completed within your first few days
- Complete W-4 Tax Withholding Form
- This can also be completed within your first few days
- Determine commuting method and take any necessary steps
+Within 30 days of starting your job
- Within 3 days of starting your job:
- Complete I-9 with department contact (bring required documents from acceptable list)
- Required activities:
- Complete Preventing Sexual Harassment and Sexual Violence Training
- Complete 30-day Goal Setting with supervisor
- Enter time and/or absences
- Complete and submit W-4 and Direct Deposit to department contact
- For benefits-eligible employees: enroll in or decline benefits
- Recommended activities:
- Obtain Wiscard (campus ID)
- Attend UW-Madison’s New Employee Orientation (NEO)
- Attend Benefits 101 to learn about benefit offerings
- Sign-up for WiscAlert Emergency Alert System
- Provide Emergency Contact information in MyUW
- Your supervisor will inform you if you need to:
- Complete forms to receive access to University systems
- Complete Title IX Responsible Employee Training
- Complete Campus Security Authority (CSA) Training
